Marvel vs DC vs Image?
So the question is am I a comic book fan or a Marvel/DC/Image fan? The truth is I
lean more towards Marvel myself even though Image, Dark Horse and DC all have
books that interest me. For me it is more about the action and characters than the
story. I know some people are into stories, some are into art and others characters,
me I am more into what looks cool and characters who do things. My favorites are
Spider-Man, X-Men, Batman, Transformers (naturally) Star Wars, and Fantastic Four.
Not that those are the only ones I read but those are my favorites as far as
characters go. The truth is I do prefer Marvel over all the others but not to the
point some extremists take it.
Comic Books
I have been a comic book reader/collector ever since I was a kid. I started out with
Richie Rich, Bug Bunny, and Transformers and eventually moved up to X-Men, New
Mutants, Spider-man, and then got into Batman and from there I branched out into all
sorts of stories and books. The thing of it is I never really took care of my books,
mostly because we moved a lot so they were victims of the move like everything else I
had. But I have always managed to keep a small collection of books at all times and do
read as often as I get the chance.
Marvel
Since they are my favorite of all publishers I might as well cover them first. As far
I am concerned Marvel does have the best comics in the business period. And I have
read them all, Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, Hulk, X-Men, New Mutants, Silver Surfer,
Captain America, Thor, Daredevil, The Avengers, hell I even read the Marvel published
Transformers along with the Star Wars and G.I. Joe comics as well.

DC
DC is probably the comics company I despise the most. Nothing personal or fanboyish
about it I just find their stories, characters and art isn't as compelling as what I
get from Marvel. Now that doesn't mean I completely shun DC, by no means they do
have some great books that I really do enjoy from time to time.
My favorites from DC universe are Batman, Superman, The Flash, Lobo and anything
with Harley Quinn in it. As far as movies and TV shows go, Batman the Animated
Series, Lois and Clark the New Adventures of Superman and The Flash were the only
ones I ever watched regularly.

The Flash
Lobo
Martian Manhunter
Justice League
Harley Quinn
Image/Dark Horse/Ultraverse/Valiant, etc
Why lump these together? Because each publisher has only one or two books I ever
cared about and none were books I followed very long. Most of the stories/characters
I even know about from any of these publishers I learned about from movies, not the
comics. Not that I didn't like any of their stories or whatever just Marvel and
Transformers in particular dominated my life so I had very little room for anything
else. But needless to say I did manage to find exposure to some non-Marvel and
non-DC comics. The most prominent ones are The Mask, Spawn, Prime, Thundercats,
TMNT, and Star Wars. I also kept up with the Dreamwave Transformers comics for a
while but quit after Armada became too popular.

Thundercats
